The brief was to provide a garage workshop space at the end of a lawned garden.

Our response was to link the house, garden and workshop through a covered play area and areas of retractable glazing, allowing the young family to be visually connected and in close proximity when undertaking different tasks.

The form was chosen to mitigate the appearance of the volume required to provide clearance for an engine hoist and to work on two vehicles.

The larch cladding was chosen to soften the buildings appearance from the house and relate to the open countryside beyond.
