Holbeck Stables

The conversion of a disused stable block on the grounds of a Grade II Listed manor into a high specification family home.

A large stable space at ground level with simple grooms’ accommodation above is converted into a social family kitchen and living space separated by a light drenched staircase.

Four bedrooms have been created at first floor with internal windows in the two children’s rooms giving framed views down into the triple height entrance space.

Physical models were built to help the design process, testing internal arrangements to maximise visual connection of spaces, use of natural light and the location of the staircase.
