A growing family had a large house but the rooms lacked connection with the large kitchen to the front of the house and the social spaces and garden to the rear.
Access to the garden was through an underused conservatory (too hot in summer, too cold in winter).
Our design sought the opportunity to place the kitchen at the centre of the home.
The chosen design allows views from the kitchen island to the living room, a light filled extension housing a family dining table and window seat.
Setting the extension at an angle opens up the orientation to the garden through large sliding doors.
